Reflecting back on the presentation, I'm quite glad that I stuck to this topic. There were plenty of times where I was wavering on whether or not to go through with it, given how political and volatile of a subject I was grappling with, but it's something that needs to be talked about. Throughout my research, I found it difficult to stay objective, and within the guidelines I've set for myself in order to stay on topic in the project, as I too have strong feelings on the issues I'm covering in the presentation. However, I'm proud of the final product that I'm producing as a result of it all. I'm unsure how I would use most of the information I've gathered, however the strategies I'm using to convey the information are very useful in a classroom setting. Poll Everywhere seems particularly useful, as it would allow an educator to use the phones every kid is going to walk in with for a constructive purpose. Lecture and video are staples of any curriculum, and I already planned to use them in my future classroom, so any practice beforehand is great. The biggest thing that I've learned about myself from this project, but also from this course as a whole is that I have strengths as an educator that I did not know I had beforehand. For example, I can be persuasive, and appeal to people using humor, and I can do this all-the-while making a point. I'm happy that I've become more confident in these areas, And I feel far more validated in my choice of a future career.
